The 2003 Otis Chardonnay has aromas of blended oak and ripe fruit. Well-integrated oak provides a smoky and toasty palate with nuances of Anjou pears, Asian pears, quince and brown spices (nutmeg). The wine has great structure and intensity.
2003 is recognized as one of the best vintages in Washington State history. An abundance of warm, sunny, rain-free days allowed the fruit to ripen perfectly. A cooler, dry autumn extended harvest through late October and produced good fruit intensity, structure and balanced acidity.
