Very dark red color with nose of bramble fruit interspersed with a minty leafiness. Hints of cinnamon spice on the nose. The wine’s flavor is reminiscent of evergreen blackberries. Good acidity and balance.
This 2007 Malbec was sourced from Red Willow Vineyard. The relationship between Columbia Winery and the Sauers, owners of Red Willow Vineyard is part of Washington state wine industry legend. Since the first blending of Red Willow Cabernet Sauvignon grapes into Columbia Winery wines in 1979, Mike Sauer and our winemakers have over the years developed a deep understanding of the soils, slopes and exposures and their impact on fruit quality. Known for being the inspiration for new varietals in the state, Red Willow successfully pioneered the growing of Malbec in our state.
