Medium-red in color, this Merlot has aromas of cherries, butter, smoke and sandalwood. Full in mouth with flavors of Bing cherries, plums, green tea and chocolate, this wine offers smooth tannins and a medium-body with a medium to long finish.
The 2008 growing season was slightly cooler than average. Consequently, harvest dates were a few days later than average and the grapes ripened slowly during their final days on the vines. The wines have the structure that ample natural acidity gives. This blend benefits from the inclusion of 11% Malbec, which brings its plush fruit and leafy flavors.
This wine pairs nicely with a wide variety of grilled red meats or Eggplant Parmesan.
