Dark red in color. Spicy aromas of cherries, smoke, leather, plums and sweet herbs. Flavors of red and black cherries, cocoa, dense oak and a hint of mint. A well structured tannin profile features supple fruit, good toast and a medium-long finish. This wine is drinkable now, but is built to age an additional 5-7 years.
2009 was a very early harvest for all varietals in central Washington. An early bloom led to harvest dates 10 days to 2 weeks earlier than average. All varieties ripened at high Brix with ample color and tannin.
