Cabernet Franc, Columbia ValleyDry wine. This varietal is famous in Bordeaux for its aromatic qualities. Cabernet Franc is a medium bodied red that is full of berry and plum flavors. It has enough tannin to develop in the bottle, but not so much as to be perceived as a big, overly dry wine. Blended with Merlot, it is excellent with fowl such as duck, goose and pheasant as well as a terrific match with fruits and a wide range of cheeses. Cabernet Franc was pioneered in Washington by David Lake and Columbia Winery. Cabernet Franc is sold only at the Columbia Wine Shop and quantity is limited. Tasting Notes Rich plum in color with spicy red fruit and oak on the nose. The palate is firm‐bodied with abundant cherry and ripe berry flavors that are complemented by hints of herbs, vanilla and cedar. The velvety texture leads to a well‐structured and lengthy finish.
