Chardonnay, Otis Vineyard Block 6Dry wine. This wine is 100% fermented in new oak. Otis Block 6 is a bigger style Chardonnay with tropical flavors balancing oak and vanilla nuances. Prominent are hazelnut and butterscotch flavors framed by crisp acidity and tasty oak.Harvest 2005 had very little snow pack. Because of restrictions on water use we saw limited canopy growth which allowed more sun exposure. The summer was a typical warm one. A cooler autumn than usual allowed full ripeness. Tasting Notes Established in 1957 by Otis Harlan, Otis Vineyard is one of the most celebrated vineyards in Washington State. Located in the Yakima Valley on the lower slopes of the Rattlesnake Hills, Otis boasts some of the oldest vines in the state and cultivates several varietals of outstanding character including Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Cabernet Sauvignon. Lovely citrine hue. Aromas of lemon zest and casaba melon. Rich, complex and lush on the palate. Well balanced with integrated oak, a touch of vanilla and butter. Long clean length.
