2009 Lapis Red Blend
The second wine in the Stone Cutter Series, Lapis, is a Rhone blend of Syrah, Mourvedre and Grenache. The word, lapis, is Latin for stone.
Tasting Notes On the nose are characters of white pepper, cherries, and spice. In the background are hints of mineral and more spice. Soft, lingering tannins are followed by flavors of juicy fruit and cherry cobbler. Medium-bodied with a luscious, smooth texture.
Food Pairing Recommendation Our 2009 Lapis pairs well with comfort foods such as spaghetti and meatballs, roast beef, or a hearty Hungarian goulash.
