During the 2005 vintage, Columbia’s winemaking team noticed two exceptional grape lots of “big five” Bordeaux varietals; Merlot and Petit Verdot. As these developed in the barrel they experimented with blends which resulted in this classically-inspired wine. Deep and dark in color, this is an elegant, good-structured blend of soft, ripe red fruit, featuring black plums and mission figs. Polished tannins lead to a silky, smooth finish.
